Welcome

Hi, I’m Dr. Katie, the Senior Centered Physical Therapist!

Welcome to the Senior Centered PT Community!

Mission: To serve as the preferred provider of highest quality education and resources on rehab, wellness, and successful aging for the older adult population.

How this Site Came to Be: There is a ton of information out there as it relates to health and well-being. While information is great, too much in too many places can lead to overwhelm.

As a physical therapist, I saw the need to utilize my skillset, knowledge, and love of educating to make the best information for older adults available in one location.

At the Senior Centered PT, we utilize written articles, printable handouts, and videos to ensure the varying needs of the older adult population are met.

How to Use This Site:

  1. Start by entering your name and email address in the subscribe box (it’s FREE!). You will receive a FREE GIFT when you subscribe. Who Makes Up the Senior Centered PT Community?:

First and foremost, YOU! I am so glad that you’re here to learn, and I hope that this site helps enable you to thrive as you age!

In addition to myself, you’ll also see articles written by Katie Fischer, OTR/L, who is “The Senior Centered OT”. Occupational and physical therapists work together quite a bit in inpatient settings, but we wanted to ensure that the amazing knowledge of OTs gets highlighted and shared in community settings as well.

Creating a community that provides as much as it possibly can to older adults means including others within the medical and wellness fields, so you’ll often see interviews and possibly even posts written by other providers.

As a physical therapist, I definitely don’t know everything, so I aim to reach out to other experts to help serve this community.

Lastly, from time to time you’ll see Blue, my mini Australian shepherd (notice she’s peeking her head out in the logo). She brings joy to everyone and serves as a good example in videos of how to avoid tripping over pets when exercising at home!

Once again, welcome to the Senior Centered PT Community! Thank you for being here!
